About Healing Minds
At Healing Minds, our mission is to provide compassionate, trauma-informed counselling that honours the unique experiences and emotional journeys of every individual, couple, and family we work with. Established in 2018 in Dundee, KwaZulu-Natal, our practice was founded and is led by Sheena Singh, a licensed and accredited trauma counselling specialist with a deep-rooted commitment to promoting mental well-being—particularly within historically underserved and marginalized communities.
We understand that healing is not one-size-fits-all. That’s why our approach is grounded in empathy, cultural sensitivity, and evidence-based practices that are tailored to each client’s circumstances. We offer more than just traditional therapy—we create a safe, inclusive, and non-judgmental environment where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to heal and grow.
Whether you're dealing with the lingering effects of trauma, anxiety, grief, relationship difficulties, or major life transitions, we are here to support you. Our services include both in-person and virtual counselling, designed to be accessible and effective for clients of all ages and backgrounds.
At Healing Minds, we walk alongside you as you work toward clarity, strength, and emotional resilience—because your mental health matters, and your story deserves to be heard with compassion and care.

Our Therapeutic Approach
At Healing Minds, our counselling approach is grounded in trauma-informed care, meaning we prioritize safety, trust, and empowerment in every session. We recognize how past trauma can shape emotional patterns and behaviours, and we work gently and collaboratively to support healing at your pace.
We draw from an integrative range of evidence-based modalities to best meet the needs of each individual, couple, or family. These include:
-
Person-Centred Therapy – creating a warm, non-judgmental space where clients feel deeply heard and accepted.
-
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) – helping clients identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours.
-
Narrative Therapy – allowing clients to reframe their personal stories and take control of their life narrative.
-
Solution-Focused Therapy – working on practical goals and identifying strengths to move toward positive change.
-
Family Systems and Couples Counselling – improving communication and dynamics within relationships and families.
-
Mindfulness and Somatic Techniques – supporting emotional regulation and nervous system healing, especially in trauma work.
Our approach is always collaborative, culturally sensitive, and guided by ethical standards. Whether you're working through anxiety, trauma, burnout, loss, or relational struggles, we tailor our methods to support you with compassion and care.
